Unit 8242
Category: layer dug in 2001
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: floor and packing
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: This unit comprises the excavation of the NW section of feature F.169. At least one floor layer was removed as well as one packing layer. Removal of the top layer revealed a light orange packing layer which is at the same level as the packing in unit 8224 and the floor plastering in units 8225 and 8217. Excavation ended on the west edge at the white plaster ban 8165. Excavation revealed that the top floor plastering (which was the first layer visible at the beginning of this unit) is part of the same plastering event as the unit 8165 (white plaster basin). The floor and packing layers toward west end of the unit were more brittle than those ont the eastern part of F.169. Samples 3,4,5 were taken from the plaster floor that was visible at the beginning of this unit.
