Dimensions: 1 x 1 m (minus burial pit) 

Discussion: Took down NE clay pack of f162 to plaster-like, uneven floor; encountered several shells, animal bone, and small obsidian flakes; Orange, discolored soil was noted concentrated in NE corner of this unit with carbon residue; A possible cut was discovered beneath this orange soil on the far north east side of this unt with an animal hole and root within it. Also in the northern end of the unit were hard bricky-fill inclusions and middeny fill included with the bricky packing.

Removed the layer of brownish/grey packing at north end of unit (beneath bricky clay pack) down to floor 8; Packing was semi-dry in center to edge and sticky to semi-moist consistency in the NW corner; the floor 8 plaster is off-white = 2.54 YR 8/2, and was thin and uneven. 

Recognition: dark brown and grey 

Definition: clear - to floor below (#8) 

Execution: trowel, leaf trowel, "mira" tool 

Condition: moist to semi dry in places 

Consistency: sticky to semi-dry, firm 

Colour: 10 YR 6/2 = light grey brown; 10 YR 6/4 light yellowish brown 

Texture: silty loam and clay 

Bedding: layers; heterogeneous 

Inclusions: charcoal, shell, obsidian, animal bone 

Post-depositional Features: animal hole and root 

Basal Boundary: whitish/yellow clay of floor 8 

Dry sieve volume: 15 

Total Deposit Volume: 46
