Unit 8301
Category: layer dug in 2001
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: floor packing
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: This is a massive layer of packing consisting of burned mud brick and other miscellaneous material. It is similar to the packing found in F. 606 and throughout sp. 158. The unit was not excavated to full depth, but split into two layers due to oven in the SW corner and a loor layer/lip that was under unit 8254 and carries over through the platform underneath unit 8285. There could also be a cut near the border of 8288. The new plan is to continue to remove the rest of the packing as a separate unit.
