Unit 8302

Category: layer    dug in 2001

Area: North

Interpretive Categories: burnt floor

Data Category Information: none

Dimensions: N-S =55cm; E-W =47cm

Discussion: Red surface below the place where F. 613 once was. Sandy clay of various nuances of red and yellow color, partly scorched in the NW part of the unit. Still not clear whether theis belongs to F. 613 (its base or deposits beneath the base with traces of burning) or is part of some earlier fire installation.
After removing one layer we came to a surface of similar red color but somewhat firmer and consisting of three subsequent layes of burnt clay. The only certain thing is that this "feature" pre dates F. 778 since F. 778 is cut into its eastern edge.
