Discussion: Pretty much the same thing as 8222, removed rubbly packing, found more pieces of that groundstone, that "possible" cut spotted while excavating 8289 is not a cut, but while defining that Tish, my mate, revealed nice phytoliths. That line of a (again) possible cut continues but it's very confusing since we already had one there (empty one- F.784) Traces of in situ burning next to phytoliths ass more excitement to those, already very exciting phytoliths and one can only wonder what was that since it all lies on packing.

With 8222 came down to whitish/pale yellow to yellow floor in one go , but in this quadrant it took us two samples U8289, 8314, now were at the same level in this eastern bit of F.169 

Recognition: in the section, white floor 

Definition: clear 

Execution: trowel, mattock, leaf trowel 

Condition: moist to dry 

Consistency: friable 

Colour: brown/ orangey brown,dark brown 

Texture: clayey silt 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: rubble, charcoal, phytoliths 

Post-depositional Features: rodent hole along southern wall, possible cut. (as in 8222) 

Basal Boundary: white platform floor
