Unit 8587
Category: skeleton dug in 2002
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: skeleton
Data Category Information: none
Dimensions: N-S - 35 cm; E-W - 25 cm
Discussion: There are both animal and human dusturbances. The bones are in good condition. Some are missing. The cut of this burial is not clear except in its most western portion. The cut (8588) was clearly defined within the plaster floor (3-4) as a break in the plaster that ahd been filled in with brown soil. The original cut, however, was probably larger but it probably had been truncated by the cuts of F. 1002 and 1007. All that remained was a small triangular cut. The infant bones were clustered within this burial cut although there were several bones found outside of this unit to the south. This suggest a larger original burial cut and/or disturbance of the burial. There is a large animal burrow along the western edge of the skeleton. The southern scatter of bones were first revealed at the basal boundary of F. 1007 (sk. 8490). In addition, some bones are missing even though the vertebrate appear to be articulated.

Body: A disturbed baby burial seems lying on its left side, crouched
Head: on the southern edge, completely disturbed; no face
Right Arm:

Other comments: Position of the body was difficult to determine but it was clear that the vertebrate was intact. The lower limbs were flexed on the hip and knee, and the body on its left side. The arms were not in anatomical position.
