| | Mound: West | Location: West Mound, low plateau to southwest
Trench 8 is located in the southwest of the West Mound close to Trench II where excavations have been conducted by a team from the University of Thrace since 2007. The aim is to explore the EC II occupation at Çatalhöyük West, how it developed after the end of EC I and to place it within the sequence of other late Chalcolithic occupation on the Konya Plain and beyond.
