Entry: Many many unit sheets were filled in the ending hour of this afternoon. A busy, but very enjoyable day without once touching the Total Station, hoorah.

The morning started with feature 2457. I followed the pit cut 13854 from the west to the south and extended an arbitrary edge in order to completely define the pit. The feature was photoprahed and drawn and then subseqeuntly the edges of the fill 13852, just near the cut, were levelled and the mid X Y co-ordinates obtained. It seems more likely now that the articulated left hand and juvenile foot bone, skeleton sheet 13856, originate from just south of the pit, from the neighbouring grave construction 13812 and skeleton 13815. Skeleton 13815 appears to be heavily disturbed as the femur is broken and the construction itself apparently truncated or destroyed, both showing the break of disturbance on the same north-south line. Scott later identified this afternoon juvenile bones from the apparently adult grave, feature 2458, revealing to us that there is more than one individual interred, and possibly providing some explanation for the juvenile foot bone in 13852. This is all speculation, but the migration of articulated bones from feature 2458 to feature 2457 seems hieghly conceivable - we'll see when the rest of the skeleton is revealed tomorrow!

The remainder of my time was spent filling in unit sheets for the possible chalcolithic flooring that feature 2457 truncates. The largest area of plaster flooring is in the north, labelled unit 13842. The plaster flooring to the west is divided into two areas, units 13875 and 13876, which are separated by, and both are abutting to, the plaster wall which has been labelled unit 13874. On the east side, south of plaster floor 13842, is a mudbrick whose definition at the moment is unclear on its north edge, labelled 13868, but is joined next to on its right side by a stretch of intact mortar 13869.

Overall the sketching was the highlight of my lengthy intimate time with the unit sheets. For the third time today a b***** fly has just landed on my left ear pinna. As Ingmarr would say, "daaaamn".Entered By: TEB
