New Units:
2235 is a burial
2237 is a burial

Old Units:
Unit 2233
In this unit we continued cleaning the amorphous plaster structure. Some more area around the feature was cleaned and a shallow spit was dug in the area on the W and S of it. The remains of intensive burning of the brick material were exposed in the space between the plaster structure and east house wall.

Unit 2238
In the cleaning and brushing this unit a number of dens concentric lines, that seem to form a large circle, were exposed in the hard brick fill which some people (Gavin suggested, Wendy accepted and Ruth liked the idea very much) suggested could be the remains of a collapsed roof. My reaction to it is that

*My observations: In the examination of pit/miden area in unit 2213 and nearby units I noticed that the fill of the miden is alternating between the harder surfaces consisting of deposited yellowish mud brick and darker layer of black, organic material that is typical for midens. I think that the reason for this deposition of different materials in phases can be the following: in order to be able to build on firmer ground they had to layer the miden deposits with harder material such as bricks and that way make it stronger.Entered By: Mira Stevanovic
