| Entry: | We have mostly been in the South shelter since arriving working in the area of Building 53 and Space 261. We removed the walls of building 53, space 253 which was build in a construction cut for the north and east walls. We are now contining in Space 261 which was an external space that contracted when Building 53 was in built and then used as a midden dump. The function of the space before construction of buildng 53 I not clear; there are a number of intercutting pit (eg [14824], [14826], [14832]) with fills that do not contain large quantities of cultural material, a number of fills do however contain burnt brick rubble. We have just come down onto the first wall of the building prior to the use of the area as an external space but there is still quite a lot to do before this is fully exposedEntered By: LY |
