| Entry: | Have been on site almost a week and still have yet to settle into an area. The first few days were spent in the South shelter, first cleaning up and playing the role of general 'dogsbody,' and then working in building 65 excavating burial F2703, cut into the eastern platform F2088.
The completion of the 4040 shelter, and the arrival of Roddy on site, freed me from the oven of the south to work on opening up our excavation area in the 4040. No sooner had I got space 279 cleaned and ready to excavate then I moved area again, this time to start work on the foundations of the new permanent shelter.
The first foundation trench, lucky number 13, went in without incident and revealed only building fill (15001) deposited against an east-west orientated wall (15002). Have started work on foundation trench 12 directly to the north and hope to have it finished by lunch tomorrow.
Looking forward to getting a few more foundation trenches excavated this week and hope to get back to the middin in space 279 next week.Entered By: DE |
