| Entry: | Been digging a couple of foundation trenches for the past week or so and finished trenches 3 and 6. To dig foundation trench 14 we have had to remove the block of strat left by the late foundation trench and the 2005 limit of excavation just to the west of building 55 (space 256). I started in this area earlier in the season before the foundation trenches removing midden layers that were just under the topsoil. A further midden layer that had built up against the southern and western walls of building 55 was removed (14924) revealing the full extent of the building. In layout building 55 is now clearly similar to building 59. The strat suggests that the two building are roughly contemporary with the wedge shaped building 64 squeezed into the gap between the two.Entered By: LY |
