Entry: | Another day mainly taken up by wall cleaning. In space 156 Åsa has laid out a grid as we appear to be coming down onto floors. In 157 Mark has removed some of the ‘collapse’ brick rubble deposit and has revealed the top of the threshold between 157 and 154. He also seems to have found the bottom of the infilling which may have in-situ occupation deposits beneath. In space 154 the presence of a scar through the plaster on the western wall [230] has been confirmed and a ledge plus a small stub of internal wall attached to the main wall. The edges of space 154 are coming into focus although the centre is still largely blank and covered by infilling. Had a bit of a discussion with Wendy about removing the material directly above floors. Apparently some specialists want 0.5m units whereas I prefer 1.0m. Frank did some conservation work on the southern wall of space 154 [224], this should be left for a while which might hold us up.
Oh well time to go off on the Space tour.Entered By: Craig Cessford |
