| Entry: | Another busy and hectic Monday - but we have spaces finally!
We have unveiled two new spaces. Space 340 is made up of four walls, features 2428 (units 16853 and 16854), 5052 (16855 and 16856), 5053 (units 16857 and 16858) and 2413 (units 16851 and 16852). The fill is unit 16839, which has been drawn today and is clearly defined by the plaster/mortar that lines the walls. Space 340 is disturbed in the south-east corner, probably by a pit or concentration of animal burrows. This same disturbance also stretches to the neighbouring north-east corner of space 341, also removing the corner.
Space 341 also has four walls. Features 5054 (units 16862 and 16863), 5055 (units 16864 and 16865), 5056 (units 16866 and 16867) and 5057 (units 16868 and 16869). The fill inside space 341 is 16859. It has not been drawn yet, but is clearly defined.
Before we can begin to excavated the fills of these exciting new spaces we need to lift the recent disturbances which will hopefully be completed tomorrow.
Dan L and I began a harris matrix today for all the units so far this year in Trench 5, taking Shahina's advice on board. Looking forward to the next few days progression whereby we'll hopefully be surrounded by Chalcolithic architecture. |
