| Entry: | Today I worked with both Jana and Maxime to try and define the borders of the disturbance labeled as unit 16861. One of the main goals of doing this was to try and outline the edges and corners of the walls of spaces 340 and 341. I worked mainly near the area near space 340, trying to not only figure out the disturbance, but also the grave cut that we found yesterday. The Selcuk team worked to define the grave as a whole. We had a lot of trouble finding the southeast corner of the space, so Maxime and I ended up having to overcut the disturbance into space 340 until we were sure we were hitting the fill in this space. After lunch, we were able to clean the whole area and get a photo of the space with the cut (unit 16880).
After doing this, we moved over to help Sonia with taking down unit 16884, with the goal of figuring out if there are more graves which need to be uncovered and excavated by the Selcuk team. We will continue this tomorrow, since they will be leaving in about one week. |
