It seems that time passes very quickly here and I realize now that I only have another week before leaving. Today was quite tiring, partly because of the work itself, partly because it is a new week starting, after a nice relaxing day in Konya. We are digging through unit 16886, which was alternatively interpreted as a room fill, a pit, a huge disturbance, and now an arbitrary layer. It is full of pottery, animal bones, obsidian and.. stones. This suggests obviously that graves will ultimately turn up, and already we can see some mudbricks with a strange orientation in the Northern part of the unit. Work is interesting, but quite tiring physically as we are mainly using mattocks and have to empty buckets all day long. |
