| Entry: | The last two days I spent removing loads of soil in unit 16880. There were seven small finds up to now, two half complete vessels and some stones, worked and unworked. Compared to unit 16859 in space 341, where Katie is digging, there are much more finds in 16880, also quite large sherds and bone fragments. The soil seems to be moister and less crumbly than in 16859. However, it is just as mixed up and heterogenous as where Katie is digging, some clayey spots, some limy spots, charcoal fragments and fragments of burnt mudbrick. It seems to me as if today, as I was getting deeper, the soil became more homogenous and contained more charcoal. I will check that tomorrow. |
