| Entry: | Both yesterday and today I have been digging in space 341 (Unit 16859). I' ve been taking it down to the level at which I definied the corner of the room fill on 3/8/08. So far, not much has been coming out of the fill, mainly small bits of bone and pottery. Every now and then, there's some obsidian. Definitely a different story from what's going on in space 310, and even space 340 where Jana has been working. It is very mixed, with some harder spots every now and then in the fill. For the most part though, its coming out pretty easily. I opened up a new unit (16897) for the plaster line associated with the northern wall of this space (F. 5054), since we ended up with a ready made sample of the plaster line today.
Today Peter had the camera out and was doing video diaries and also filming discussion of possible interpretations of certain areas in the trench. That's kind of useful in that it lets you go back and really watch the decision making process. I managed to avoid much film time by having to go and sieve my finds at opportune moments. However, at this point, I don't really have much exciting to film, since I'm taking out fill and haven't hit any type of floor or anything yet. |
