Cleaning to establish what stratigraphically next to excavate. Defined small patch of material between the ovens F.87 and F252. - [3127] - planned/excavated then planned/excavated layer [3130], this further exposed cut for the oven F.87 - possibly this layer the earliest ‘make-up’ layer for the oven. Planned and removed compound layer - presumably floor beneath [3130] - [3133]- this layer included in micromorphology sample. Through all the F.87 layers now and into floors, except for possible remnant of an earlier oven floor. Intend to remove floor layers down to level where floors are definitely strat. Under oven F.252 and then excavate oven. Floors remaining under F.87 presumably truncated/worn-away elsewhere in space 151.Entered By: Richard Turnbull |
