| Entry: | Today I drew and finished Unit 15157 , and went afterwards to Unit 15160. Its space is not yet defined. The Unit lies in the east of space 341 and buttress 5057. The pit is filled with quite a lot of bone, fragmented in rather big pieces (there is especially a lot of costae) and pottery. the pottery isn`t very fragmented either and forms nice clusters. The pit contains remarkably few Obsidians (in comparision to my last space) but there turned already 3 bone tools up. The pit is disturbed by quite a lot of animal burrows, especially at the edges. Maybe interesting to note is that there are some lumps of clay, also chunks of burned clay, but so far I couldn`t see any chalk inclusions or pieces of mudbrick. At the moment this pit looks like a spot for dumping kitchen garbage in the widest sense (ribs, parts of the legs, mandible, big pots with handles,...). I hope I´m not going to far with these thoughts in this early state of digging the pit. |
