| Entry: | Going on excavating unit 15160, I had to changed my interpretation of this unit. It looks like we are not dealing with a pit, but with a roomfill, containing a cluster of pot sherds, bone, articulated bone, bone artefacts and already two clay figurines ( I´m really sorry that they are coming from the sieve, but I tried to progress faster and didn´t see them). The outline of the unit in northern direction is still unclear, first I thought there was some mudbrick, but it turned out to be only roomfill, apparently the same as in unit 15158.. So the major issue for me tomorrow is to find out, how my ex-pit / roomfill connects to unit 15158.
Also interesting to note might be, that the sherds in the S-W-corner are clustering very densely, and I think they are respecting the wall. Thev pottery isn`t spread evenly, but forms clusters especially in the eastern part of the roomfill, and almost a cluster - block in the S-W corner, mixed up with ground stone and large parts of animal bone (going under the pottery cluster). Today I couldn`t find the wall 5057, I hope I can expose it tomorrow. The N-W corner is, in comparision to the other parts of the roomfill, quite empty: So far there are no x-finds, only some pottery sherds. |
