Excavation Diary Entry

Entry: I finished exposing and cleaning the floor to the east of F. 3320, now Unit 15170 (Sp. 446) and carried on extending Unit 15159 towards the east, with the aim of understanding the installations/bins F.3321 and 3322. Both of them seem to have inner fills delimited by plaster lines. Further work is necessary. To the north of F.3322, I exposed a white lime plaster layer (Unit 15171, whose connection to the aforementioned floor is still to be clarified), probably continuing into the profile to its North. The expert that came to visit the site was not quite sure about the existence of phytoliths on it. Rather, before further analysis is done, a more likely interpretation would be impressions/evidence for matting. Immediately adjacent to F.3322 on its eastern side I exposed a layer of red plaster, probably the result of collapse of an upper floor. Finally I continued extending U. 15159 towards the East and South, along the edge of the trench.

X-finds included a small piece of worked bone, possibly the head of a needle.
