Excavation Diary Entry

Name: PTW
Team:
Date: 8/11/2010
Entry: Unit 15163 in space 447 is nearly excavated completely. Only some bit of fill remains situated between F.5075 and F.3319. This small area is very rich in small and X finds. Some concentrations of a bright red pigment appeared associated with a partial clay ball and a large potsherd. Some other notable finds are a drilled pendant made of a large incisor and a stone axe (15163.X9 and 15163.X10 respectively). The plastered surfaces of F.5075 and F.3319 will be entirely exposed tomorrow and I will discover whether the floor (Unit 15167) continues in between these features. The eastern section needs to be cleaned in order to clarify F.3323 and its connection to the buttress F.3319. Also the plaster surfaces of the walls F.5075 and F.5067 and their interfaces with the floor should be cleaned and documented so that Unit 15167 can be taken up and sampled sometime in the next coming days.
