Excavation Diary Entry

Entry: Excavator's log. Date: doesn't matter - Time: far too late.
I continued to work in my space 345 and finished excavating unit 15172. Especially along the Eastern wall I found some wall plaster, which still is in its place, though adorned by holes lovingly carved by rodents. Or by someone else. Me for example. There also is a chunk of plaster, which belonged to a larger block, which I started to dig away because it had no obvious connection to the wall plaster. It still has none, but while cutting it I noticed, that it seems to have layers, so I left it. Maybe it is a bit of mudbrick and mortar that fell down. Or something else. Dunno. Just next to it a large roughly triangular stone came out and got X-ed (x1), don't know what it is yet, gonna lift it tomorrow. :-)
At the southern wall I left a bit of plaster standing as an indicator of where maybe floor plaster once was. While scraping it and around it I noticed, that there is a rusty-red stripe of soil, but it seems a bit "dust-like", not clearly defined and not very strong in colour. Should look at it tomorrow again, maybe it's interesting.
The promising yellowish clay in the north-west corner, which might have indicated a surface of some kind, sadly expired the more south I came. I don't think I went through it 'cause I would probably have noted the change in "scraped soil - colour" but maybe I didn't manage to go level enough, so it might still be hidden away under the greyish whatever that is there now. The more south I came the less "big" finds I made as well.
In the north-east corner the yellowish clay appears again in one place and forms an 8-figure. It looks as if it was a patch that got two holes next to each other. I noticed something similar but less defined in the western part. No serious idea what it might be - mice holes, little post holes, ghosts?
After excavating 15172 I opened a new unit 15174 and drew the plan, which sadly doesn’t fit perfectly on top of the plan of unit 15172. I'm not sure where I made a mistake - eventually my measurements don't hold up in one part or maybe I got just one crucial point wrong or the grid isn"t right in one of them... I don't know. Going to have a look at it tomorrow in the field.
I Xed also two retouched obsidian blades and turns out we don't X obsidian blades if they're not more special than retouched. Oh my. Must have remembered wrongly. Happens.
Looking on the clock only one option remains:
SCS out.
