| Entry: | Today was not particularly productive in terms of excavation, finds or improvement in our understanding of Unit 15159 or feature 3322. In the morning I helped JFB clean up unit 15170 for drawing, photography and elevations, whereupon I concentrated on feature 3322. I trowelled thoroughly its western side in order to understand its relation with the floor. Unfortunately, the line where both features should meet was massively disturbed by rodent holes. However, at one point it could be seen that the floor crawled up on the feature, suggesting that 3322 might have been an already existing structure when the floor was laid out. Subsequently I proceeded to level out the area directly to the south of it, exposing some irregular patches of plaster which might be the continuation of the floor. However, this connection is still unclear. Finally, I created a section of the feature (southern side), the aim of which is to see whether the plaster in its inside was connected with the floor. Further work still needs to be carried out. |
