Entry: Today I continued digging unit 15180 in space 449. First I tried to expose the antler in front of feature 3326 more, I think it doesn`t cut into the buttress, but at the moment I can`t cut down the wall of the buttress, as the antler is slightly in my way. I will look for the plaster line when the antler and the horn core are taken out, so I don`t run the risk of damaging those finds. I further tried to define the walls of the features 3324 and 5056. In the corner, where these two features meet, are several clay balls located. I find it interesting to notice, that all clay balls (all of similar, relativly small size) of this unit come from the eastern part. Some of them aren`t complete. Their shape is not regularly globular , but some are rather clumsily hand-made, rounded and with some edges. None of them is fired. Next to the clay ball concentration was also a strange, rectangular shaped clay object located, I really couldn`t decide what it was. The roomfill itself is also of different composition. A lot of collapsed wall comes out there, the texture appears to contain more clay. Some of the collapsed plaster is burned. The western part of the unit didn`t contain so much collapse of architecture (or only very few and small pieces). There aren`t so much bone tools turning up now that I´m working in the eastern corner. All walls are unfortunately heavily disturbed by animal burrows. Feature 5056 showed something intersting when cutting down the roomfill in front of the wall: At the bottom is a very light, yellowish and roughly rectangular shaped spot of smooth consistence in the wall, it can be easily distiguished from the surrounding darker mudbrick.
Especially the corner of features 5056 and 3324 seems to be eaten by animals.
In the end of the day I went down another 10-15cm in a rectangular shape around the antler and the horn core in front of feature 3326, to have a look wether they are connected to any other finds. In the surrounding there are several pottery sherds, a bone needle, and it looks like the antler is lying on a floor of yellowish colour, in front of the buttress. Right above the floor was a big lense of blueish-black, compact and burned soil located. Under this lense appeared the floor, as well as the pottery.
