Entry: | Excavator's log, Catal Date: last digging day. This last day of actual digging was spent actually cleaning, after I finished (at last!) my drawing of unit 15181. I worked with BOD in space 450, cleaning and clearing F. 5052 , 5053/5054 (and a bit F. 5057) and creating "nice" sections of roomfill between them. In the lower level of the section at sp. 340 a number of clayballs appeared, which I failed to recognize early enough as a cluster to document them such, so: may it be known, that in unit 15335 the finds x-37 to x-43 formed a cluster, as one should also see from their x/y/z-coordinates. In space 449 I tried to 'nicen up' some walls, but they were very nice already, so I turned to more important issues: brushing. And breathing dust of course. Good thing is, that more people joined in and we managed to give our building a relatively good fast brush, so we won't have to do as much tomorrow. The development of unit 15181 was rather fascinating to watch: It started off as two walls and the fill of the gap between them, the buttress that was explored later was planned, the third wall that appeared wasn't and then there were suddenly two more features, defined by plaster lines and gaps, and as I have no idea how high they reached when built, I don't really know how to imagine they looked like. Whatever. I'm sure JMR has a plan for next year, to enlighten us about them. SCS out and over. |
