[ 3748 ] - appears to be a small deposit of make-up type material - possibly just a lump thrown in with the infill. Did a general working pre-ex. plan before digging the the rest of the floors. Planned/excavated small rim of material - possibly remnant of the oven F87 ?? [ 3750 ]. Planned as much of floor(s) [ 3751 ] as possible to start with - E. edge clear. Peeling floors of f to west - peeling/cleaning off of infill material towards oven F252. Took off rim of plaster material which seems to be part of oven F252 [ 3755 ] - and stated to excavate underlying layer [ 3756 ] - also part of oven 252 apparently. Trying to establish relationship between floors [ 3751 ] and oven 252. Last 2 days conservators have removed painted plaster over 252 ( N. facing wall ).Entered By: Richard Turnbull |
