Excavating remaining small units at N. end of oven 252. Completed [ 3756] - which is possibly part of oven structure, or surface at entrance of oven but uncertain. Beneath this is a thin deposit of ashy material [ 3757 ]. Stratigraphically this probably can’t be rake-out from oven - uncertain where this ash from, but similar deposit remember early in F87 oven sequence - (??). Below this another deposit [ 3761 ] around edge of oven which I interpret as a structural element. This stratigraphically also underlying lining material on the east side of oven [ 3760 ]. Some oven material remains beneath wall - continuations of units already dealt with - the unit [ 3712 ] running from space 150 appears to continue through to N. side and possibly under the floors ? Relationship of floors/oven still uncertain.Entered By: Richard Turnbull
