Excavated remainder of unit [ 3751 ] - although continuing to excavate the layers. Appears that these floors overlap the white plaster ‘rim’ layer [ 3755 ] - which means that these floors probably deposited when oven 252 in use. Continued excavating floors to north as unit [ 3763 ] ran out before reaching the edge of excavation. ( Floors thin at the east end and becoming thicker towards the west - downslope. )
[ 3763 ] overlying a plaster floor layer - [ 3766 ] - which began to excavate- in fact plaster, or layers together with brown make-up? Material & possible occupation material. This ran out to SW. although slightly uncertain of exact limit. Also to E. when excavating [ 3763 ] began to take off different dark brown material - which gave a separate unit no. [ 3764 ]. Couldn’t relate this to [ 3763 ].
( Have remainder of [ 3766 ] to take out to baulk - then floors to west of baulk, and continuation of floors at E. end of trench.)Entered By: Richard Turnbull
