| Entry: | CMB and I are still working on unit 15357. We have moved a lot of dirt today and had a lot of finds, but there is still much topsoil to remove. I do hope that we can finish clearing the unit tomorrow.
We only had one worker to help us sift for just a part of the day, so much of my time today was spent sifting and sorting finds. I spent a lot of the time in the sun and I forgot to wear sun screen, so my arms and my neck are very red right now. Ouch.
We still find the same things as we did yesterday, including three X-finds: two clay ball fragments and a ground stone fragment. We also reached the same level as wall 2424 (that we uncovered yesterday) on the northern side of the unit. The closer we came to the level, the more plaster and limestone inclusions appeared. Large pieces of pot sherds were also uncovered at the ground level.
Our amazing trenchmaster, JMR, brought us a bunch of new hoes, as we have been fighting over a single hoe for the last week, and they are amazing. Thanks! |
