Entry: Today I continued the excavation of space 446, which I had already worked on during last year's season. This space is bounded by the baulk on the N, a possible bench, F. 3320, and F. 3335 on the W, F. 3321 on the E, and space 452 on the South. The initial aim of today's work was to bring down space 446 to space 452's level, dividing it into three separate arbitrary layers between 10 and 15 cm thick. However, after clearing most of the first fill layer (U. 15364), a possible wall/plaster feature running into a NE/SW direction was found. This feature continues under F. 3320, indicating that there was occupation prior to the construction of this bench? (F.3320), which must, therefore, have been built later than this new feature discovered today. On the other hand, approximately 1 metre further down to the south, a plaster floor was found. The excavation of this floor will be continued tomorrow, with the main aim of establishing whether there is a connection between it and the 'bench'.
