| Entry: | Today I finished U 15261, lifting the vessels by buttress F5054 and scraping off the remaining soil to expose plaster U15373. I then drew the paster, as it looks now: maybe an installation, probably a collapse. It continues northwards under bench F3334, which will be lifted over the next week. Until the bench goes, both the plaster and the cluster underneath it remain covered with sandbags and with unclear interpretations
In the afternoon, I started cleaning the profiles of sp.343 in order to clarify the situation. The space was excavated 2 years ago, and is in poor condition – the clearest 'features' visible in the section are the rodent and insect holes. It is nice to have a change though, as so far I had not worked in other parts of the trench. |
