Entry: | Today RHB and I continued work on Sk. 15383 F. 3342, and finally reached the juvenile skeleton. It appears in decent condition, but is disturbed highly on the right hand side (the femur is where the humerus should be on the right). Though, the left hand side and thorax are seem in situ. The skull is definitely in good condition, and in situ. There may be a second individual in this burial, or may have been buried directly south of this grave outline, as it seems some neonate/infant remains were found outside the grave as well as a few inside the grave fill 15385. 16944 is the Skeletal number assigned for this second individual neonate/infant. It is a very uncomfortable position that we must excavate in, since the grave is on the edge of a space section. My calves are very sore after hyperextending them for the majority of the day. I hope to have it fully excavated tomorrow, drawn, and removed by the end of the day tomorrow, though drawing may be difficult to do in such a difficult location. |
