Entry: Today I continued to work on F. 3343 burial. I draw the mudbrick 16954 construction, and it seems to have a disturbance of some sort in the eastern section. There are some animal burrows, but there may be something else bigger going on as well, such as a late pit that hasn't been defined yet. It seems like the burial is mostly intact. Upon finishing the drawing, I started to excavate the burial fill 16956, to find that it was very compact up till the western part, where there was about a 15 cm section that was very loose soil - there was also a faint white line defining this change in consistency. There was one iron nail that was found just at the southwest corner of this compact/loose juction. I am unsure if this is mudbrick construction, since after scrapping it does not appear regularly constructed, or is it the remaining compact burial fill from the coffin, or is it the burial fill that was taken from the Chalcolithic wall features? Hopefully tomorrow I will have some help to move more soil, as it is taking a while to excavate since I am 1. unsure of what kind of construction I may be digging through, and 2. do not know how far down the skeleton is, and do not want to pick axe through it. I am also working in the sun, due to the burial being at the far southern part of the trench just beyond the shelter, so gets a bit hot by lunch time.
