Entry: Today I started looking whether there is a continuing surface in space 450 connecting to my surface in space 449 (U 16947). It turned out that the place between Feature 5057 and Feature 3326 contains a new cluster of clayballs, (U 16961). These clayballs are still lying in the roomfill U 16942, but are forming a very dense layer. There is no heap of clayballs (U15343) like in the SE-corner of space 449, they are lying nicely arranged next to each other and are usually not superimposing each other. The roomfill also includes some smaller ground stones and a lot of pottery. I am not sure whether I can manage to find the surface in space 450 under clayball cluster, at the moment I can`t see it or feel it with the trowel. Maybe it becomes visible when the clayballs can be removed from the roomfill and also the soil is a little dried out. Right in the center of the western wall of buttress F 3326 is a big ashy spot located, reaching into the room. This spot is lying higher up than the clayball cluster. In the center of the room I reached a very firm lens of clay.
