Entry: Today I opened the new unit 16964, which is the roomfill in the southern part of space 450. This unit was opened in order to look for a continuation of the surface of space 449, but yesterday I found the new cluster of clayballs U 16961 between F 3326 and F 5057, and when I went down today in the entire southern part of space 450 I found the connecting part of the plaster installation 15373 BOD excavated earlier this season. It was superimposed by a large firm brownish lens, and directly in front of the northern wall there is very firm ashy spot located, and under it large pottery sherds are coming up.Nevertheless, I tried to expose the plaster installation, but couldn`t finish today. At the moment this installation looks very weird to me, and I can`t really understand what it was used for.
The roomfill in the southern part of space 450 is generally characterized by softer and looser lenses of mixed fill, especially in eastern direction, the fill in western direction, approaching buttress F 5053/5054, is quite firm, especially the fill superimposing the plaster installation. The fill of U 16964 between the clayball cluster and the plaster installation 15737 has inclusions of reddish spots on the clay lenses, as well as some dark charcoal spots (probably deriving from the ashy lens in front of buttress F 5057). I hope I can manage to expose the plaster installation the following day, at the moment I doubt whether I can follow the surface from space 449 into space 450, I just can`t find it there.
