Entry: Today I continued work on leveling the area where F. 3343 burial cut (16955) into the Chalcolithic walls (F. 3351 and 3354). It was level by the end of the day, and we could see the two walls, where F. 3351 is the southern wall of Sp. 454, and the wall just south of it (so this is our usual double walls that we see) which is the northern wall of a new space (not defined yet). The plaster lines are clear, and we can see what appears to be a corner in the western end of these walls. There are some animal disturbances, as well as some type of larger disturbance in the far western part of the wall area, which may be related to these multiple later pits/events that we have seen here. I highly suspect that this burial F. 3343 that we determined yesterday to be the bottom of the burial, was dug up (grave robbing?) and redeposited in bell shaped pit F. 3331 in Sp. 454, where the remains are from an adult male have been consistently located. It was disappointing to know that I had the bottom of a grave, but we didn't really have much time left to excavate anyway, so I guess it's a good thing. This will also be our 4th building that we have located - building number TBA.
