| Entry: | Today went rather smoothly with the total station as I backsighted often. I have also gotten better at being taking people’s points in groups so that I have more time for digging my unit. I wish that I was able to dig more, of course, but I still managed to have an interesting day in my unit, 15378. I managed to uncover the boundaries of the grave that serves as the bottom of my level. I wasn’t able to discover much more context for the wall that I found yesterday, but was able to find the cut that the grave made in the wall.
It is definitely interesting to dig a burial as I have never done so before, but due to the small size of the grave itself and the few bones found over it, I believe it might be the burial of a pre-adolescent child, possibly also an infant as well. This touches a bit of a nerve for me personally, and while it is intellectually interesting, I am anxious to discover what is within. |
