| Entry: | There was a really difficult situations in this area. We couln’t define any border of graves. Just we could see to the bones cleary. But it was not clear to say ‘there are some burials in this area’. The bones were so disturb and we couldnt manage to dig so good . It was a really difficult examination. Finally we discussed and decided to remove to infill. But we were not sure that it is a grave . We wanted to remove layer and after that when we defined more bones and some fragments of beads on bones after that it would be a grave at insitu. At the same time also we defined 4 skulls . But one of the skull seemed to be related to some bone cluster. Actually we decided that it could be a feature and we started to dig that burial (19448). When we finished to dig we saw the infill of this burial continue to South side of area. We had to find the North border of burial. It was a little bit clear than other borders. We dug a little bit more around of skull we exposed some obsidian fragment. When I was digging to the that artefact I thought that maybe it could be some flecs of obsidian. But there was a really interesting situation. When ı was digging more I saw the obsidian surface and it was polished. And it was continue to along of the bottom I could see really clearly to the surface. Possibly the mirror was coming. I was not sure. Suddenly I remembered last year. Also we found a fragment of obsidian mirror in the Mellarts fill in the South area. After that I really decided that it was a mirror. And it seemed to be whole mirror. We could recognize to the whole surface of the that mirror. After that mirror we changed our idea. This burials should be insitu . Also we exposed the some articulated bones near the mirror. But the level of the mirror seemed to lower than another burials. Just we wanted to dig around of the 3 skulls. Maybe we could define the border of graves. When I was digging to layer to getting nearly same level of obsidian mirror I started to define another obsidian mirror. I was schocked because second mirror was coming and it was more polished than another. There were some cluster of seeds and Shell. When we removed also that mirrors we defined that also some pigments of ochres. The West border of graves were getting clear. Actually we decided that we had to finished to dig layer. We exposed also some skulls and bones. They stand on the higher level than other articulated bones. By day by we could define the outline of the borders of graves but we couln’t any find the relations between this burials. Another interesting thing is we coulnt find any insitu position of skeleton. Just we exposed one skull which located to insitu |
