Entry: In the past few days we' ve been excavating three late (Islamic) burials in the Trench 2 (sp.483). They were completely excavated, together with their mudbrick superstructures. The Human Remains lab team helped with lifting up the skeletons. They were in different state of preservation. Two of them (features 3901 and 3902) have been badly disturbed due to unspecified events (most of bones were disarticulated, scattered in random places, at different levels). The remaining one (located in the N part of the trench) - recorded as feature 3900 was exceptionally well preserved. It was lying in an extended position, on its right side, with head oriented towards the West and facing South. From the body position it was understood this was an Islamic burial (by analogy, it is thought the same for the other graves). No grave goods have been found in all of the three burials.
After the exploration of the graves, a layer of mixed deposits was removed in the entire surface of the trench in order to reach the Neolithic deposits and be able to observe the Neolithic features.

Meanwhile, in the Trench 1 (Building designated by Mellaart as Building 5) several Neolithic features have been distinguished after the cleaning the area. We started the exploration of the large Hellenistic pit that truncated the Neolithic layers. The plan for the forthcoming days is to excavate the other Neolithic deposits in this Building.
