| Entry: | Most of the morning was spent in setting up the 3D recording system. Levels were taken on Units 1235, 1236 and 1237 and on the location of flotation samples therefrom. After discussion we decided not to continue the Penmapping of Units and to use 3D only for find and sample locations. We began excavation of several units. Gavin excavated room fill/collapse, Unit 1235, in the south of Space 70, Serap excavated ash, Unit 1236, in the west of Space 70, and Engin excavated cut fill in the southeast of Space 71. I cleaned the northeast corner of Space 71 and found a new wall or brick feature leading off the north wall of the building into the room. The upper fill here will be excavated as Unit 1238. Dry sieves were set up outside the tent and were used satisfactorily. Overall much of the day was spent in explaining techniques and procedures to the students and in waiting for the electronic machinery to perform.Entered By: Roger Matthews |
