Entry: | Unit 16980 has surprised again with the variation in artifact categories. In the NW corner there is a deep cluster (16989) of superimposed unfired (and painted) pottery. The recovery is slow and painfull, because as soon as you touch them they break into small pieces. We intend to photograph each sherd and record them individually tomorrow with the help of IF. In the center of unit 16980 there is a large circular lense of ash and charcoal, situated over a three pottery sherds turned upside down. A clay ball was found there too. I am eager to move on and to reach the floor of the room. |
