| Entry: | At the beginning of our excavation of building 43 we were 5 strong, and now we are down to just 2 of us. Things are actually going quite smoothly now that we have finally removed that awful orange make up layer that took a good while to remove! So now we are continuing to work on space 235, which is located in the northern part of the building, by excavating several pits that are there. Once we have that done we will begin to start on the southern part of the building in order to bring the entirety of building 43 into the same stratagraphic phase. We have been attempting to do so for a while, but we will get it into phase before we leave next week, I'm sure.
So today was rather exciting because we found our first x find since beginning excavation of this building. It was in the pit that I was digging, unit 10548, and it was a beautiful ground stone that seemed to be polished on all sides. I think it is an exellent first x find for the building.
The agenda for tomorrow is to continue digging in the pit, and then finally moving onto the south part of the building so that we may continue getting the building into phase. |
