| Entry: | We finished unit 17258 early in the morning and started an arbitrary unit (17265) below (10cm). The unit dealt with removing the another layer of fill from the southern sector of room 105. While I was removing the bulk of the soil, SO was doing the fine work such as revealing walls and excavating delicate artifacts. In the end of the previous unit, around the SE corner, we noticed a large piece of wall plaster with a beautiful red color still attached on it. SO carefully removed the plaster and placed it in a plastic box for transportation to the lab. The one thing we noticed while excavating this unit was the decrease in artifact quantities when compared with the layers above. We have to see if this trend will continue or change when we remove more fill from the building. |
