Entry: | A few days ago I arrived on site to find T5 all in good order. After all, it has turned into the kind of place with walls standing up to almost my own height had always dreamed of when we started in 2006. Very enjoyable.
I am particularily happy about the floor in building 98. Given that the buildings 107 and 105 lack plaster in all or many places and also lack proper floors except the trampled surfaces we encountered, we have to think more about plaster stripping and maybe even floor stripping than we did before.
While most stratigraphic relationships within the buildings appear clear now, building 105 still is sort of a problem causing discussions in the trench. My current idea is that the original building was single-walled, and that walls 3346, 3511, 3310 and 3303 were put up later - as internal reinforcing walls rather than benches as we though initially. After all, the plaster on wall 2424 appears to continue behind 3303. This, however, does not explain the phases in the buttresses. Dismantling them maybe the only way to find out, even if this means going on digging out of phase. Rodent holes seem to be particularily fond of digging in the corners. |
