Entry: The small probe next to southern wall of building 98 (U.18367) it seems to be more interesting than it can be expected by its size. I continued to excavate bellow the second floor (18377) and new situation appeared. The layer bellow was divided into brownish western part and dark grey soil on the eastern part with almost ideally flat N-S border. Therefore new unit number was opened (18389) in order to divide these apparently two different construction features. The brownish area was creating a perfect angle at southern part, but also continuing with another angle towards southern wall. This is also part of some construction bellow the floor which is hard to understand in the moment. Anyway, I removed the dark grey perpendicular layer/fill and the brownish colored level emerged on 10cm bellow which is identical to one next to removed grey area. As this situation indicated more complex building context we decided to stop here and to close the units associated with the probe. The work on these layers of building 98 will continue in 2013. Regarding material it is noteworthy that there were numerous pieces of animal bones and just scarce pottery fragments. Also one human tooth was found there, as well as two tokens and several pieces of one abbreviated figurine.

Today I got the rest of recently found figurines from finds lab so the total number is finally present for definite statistics and photography (except the figurine - 18306, in crate ET 3 which can not be found). I guess tomorrow I will get the one found today, so I can include it in the group of abbreviated figurines. Today we start with photos of the figurines and hopefully we will finish till 10 pm. Also today on the program is documentation of animal figurines.
