Entry: I took over the work on unit 17266 in space 345. The eastern part was already removed and I had to remove some remaining lumps of silty material mixed with plaster in the western part. I recognized a lot of small stones in comparison to the quantity of other materials that I could find. I tried to expose the floor material. But apparently there turned out to be two floor materials. A white very firm plaster-like material with very few inclusions was covered by a greenish softer (although still compact) material. On spots where the greenish material had been exposed for some days it came off easily by poking it. Is the greenish material floor material or not? On spots where I could find pottery on floor 17277 near the surrounding walls there almost everywhere continued underneath the walls. For that reason I could not take of every sherd on the floor. But at the same time some sherds seem to lean on the northern wall (F. 5067).
Also, I could not find any connection of the surrounding walls with the greenish or white floor material. But there seem to have been another plaster layer above that seemed to be connected with the walls. Probably it is just collapsed plaster.
