| Entry: | I do not remember if I wrote about this last year or if I just thought I would, but even if I did, it can be said again: Writing a handover document at the end of the season would be a great idea. I recalled this as I began excavating the burials inside the NE platform F.6051 in building 77 where nine crania and numerous bones were found in 2011. The human remains team lifted five of these and left four due to time limitations. I was very happy to see a schematic picture in the Catal report from 2011 (page 69) that in a clear way showed which crania were lifted and which were not. The authors of the report also added information about feature numbers, skeleton numbers and which crania that had not received a skeleton number.
Even if you do not leave an unfinished feature or unit behind it would never the less be a good idea to leave some notes about the plans for your space/building/feature, what was done and what remains to be done together with other such information. Even if I do not want to suggest another form to be filled out perhaps a formalized version, a handover sheet, is the only way to make this happen. |
