Entry: | Continuing to work in what is now Space 173. The original plan was to take down wall F.484 once I had taken the fill out of the crawlhole ( now F.487 ) but I decided against that this morning - partly because I wanted to wait until I could get photos of the crawlhole from space 173 ( which I’ve done this evening ) and there is no urgent need to take the wall down. Also Peter found a hole cut through this wall towards the S.end which explains why me and Lucy couldn’t discern any brickwork there when we were drawing the elevation. Planned the stub of N-S wall F484 to the north of the crawlhole - it looks as if to me this might be all one build with the wall on the south side of the space - although Craig on his plan had drawn a line across the wall and numbered up the wall to the east of the line as F483. This E-W wall may need dealing with before F484 anyway as it is standing about a metre high and there are 2 cracks running from top to bottom - when the plaster is taken off that wall - if it lasts that long , we will be able to see if there are 2 builds or not....In the meantime I’m taking off 4441 which is one of the three arbitary layers taken at the base of 4321 coming down onto the floor - possibly remnants of plaster floor, though not sure yet, and there appears to be another demolished bin feature on the east side of this space which looks as if it could be cut into/through the floors.Entered By: Richard Turnbull |
